I highly recommend it to anyone who has 10 or pounds to lose. Nutrisystem Turbo 13 is one of the most effective ways to lose weight, and is a great fit for anyone who wants an easy plan to follow. I've used their plan now several times over the years, and it's one of our highest rated weight loss products here on the site. I really liked your story.
I am in day 2 of my Turbo Program. My history with NS is in I had my 3rd child, 12 months and one day after my 2nd. My weight on delivery date was My normal weight was I went down to Lowest in my life, and I felt good. I did feel healthier at which I managed to maintain for 20 something years. In 3 years I graduated a size I weighed when I graduated. I still weigh 10 years later and feel awful.
I too started to eat out and drink wine. I only hope I have the will power to succeed this time. I feel I have to become a hermit and say no to going out with my friends, neighbors and family. But now I am older and I dread the fact it may take me years to lose all this fat. But I have only myself to blame. Reading your story has given me some inspiration.
I am going to make 10 weight loss increments only as to not get discouraged. Thank you for sharing your story. Hi Cheryl- Thanks for reading, and sharing…What an inspiring story!
I still have a drink occasionally, but try to keep it limited to social gatherings and not an everyday thing. In any case, best of luck with your weight loss journey!
Norman, you seem to know the NS diet very well. I have been on this diet around 7 years ago and I see a few new changes this time. My order has arrived and I unpacked my Turbo Box yet did not keep that food separate, and now i am really unsure of what was in it for my first week….
Best of luck with the program. Hope that helps -NS. You want to be at your goal weight then, not wishing you did something about it yrs ago. No, you cannot pound them back, but I am not sure why you would want to anyway.
Co-workers always ask me to go out for a drink and they order whatever and I order a diet coke. You could blame it on medication if you want. When I go out to eat or go to cookouts, etc. I order a meat and a vegetable with a diet soda. No potato or anything. At a cookout it would be a burger or chicken with no bread, and a tossed salad or veggie. You CAN do it. You just have to order carefully.
I wish you luck. You can do, I know you can. It is so nice to read a positive article about Nutrisystem. You are so right about your body becoming used to the smaller portions. Like anything, your body goes through an adjustment period, but after a few days, it is quite easy. With frequent snacks between meals, as well as plenty of fluids, you are eating pretty much whenever you feel hungry.
Hi, thanks for the great review! Thanks for the nice comment: Excited to hear how Nutrisystem goes for you — let us know!
Hi Ellen — You definitely need to talk with your doctor before trying Nutrisystem or any weight loss plan with your health issues, but they do offer a plan for people with diabetes.
I would recommend checking out their site to learn more about the different plans they offer. They also offer snacks and shakes as options over the course of the day, so that helps with the extra cravings too.
Hope that helps, and best of luck with your weight loss journey! Someone in my Myspace group shared this website with us so I came to give it a look. Exceptional blog and brilliant design and style. Thanks for the kind words and for visiting the site — let me know your Twitter handle so I can return the favor!
Those first 2 weeks i dropped 13 lbs, but that third week i lost maybe 1 lb. I was only eating the provided meals the first two weeks usually around only calories per day obviously that was unhealthy, so i added in a few snacks to put me right around calories per day.
But unfortunately that has resulted in minimal weight loss. Did you have plateaus like this? And how did you over come these stalls? I did just purchase an elliptical and also a stationary bike, but only on day 2 with those. Your review was wonderful and very well written, so thank you!
Hi Julie- Thank you so much for sharing your story, and way to go for making it through your first month! I think the calorie restriction is the hardest part about Nutrisystem, and why now I typically only do the diet for a month or two and then really focus on just eating right and getting enough exercise after that.
For me, the approach after Nutrisystem has been intermittent fasting IF. That said, I have had a lot of success with it, and find that I can maintain a healthy weight for long stretches of time when using it. I started with the turbo charge and continued now for almost 3 weeks. I have only lost 3 lbs. When I emailed a counselor they said that was normal and I was doing well. Big hope very disappointed. In any case, hope the rest of your month goes well, and best of luck moving forward.
I just started Nutrisystem. I always lost weight on the low carb diet when I was younger. But the fat intake was not good. Just to avoid all the carbs… Did you or anyone else have a issue with how many carbs are in each meal? Is this ok lol… Please someone assure me all the carbs are ok! Thanks for visting, and best of luck with your first month! Thanks for the excellent review and videos. Excited to see what kind of progress I can make.
Hi Krystal — thanks for visiting the site, and taking the time to read my review and watch the videos. Always happy to hear that it helped! Thanks for the great info and for sharing your story! Thanks for the kind words, June!
Congrats on taking the first step and best of luck with Nutrisystem — hope it goes well! I mastered more new things on this fat reduction issue. An enormous reduction in junk food, sugary foods, fried foods, sugary foods, beef, and white flour products may perhaps be necessary. Holding wastes unwanted organisms, and wastes may prevent ambitions for fat-loss. While specific drugs for the short term solve the situation, the unpleasant side effects are certainly not worth it, plus they never present more than a short-term solution.
Many thanks sharing your thinking on this weblog. Thanks for the input Saul. Have you ever considered creating an ebook or guest authoring about Nutrisystem on other sites?
I know my readers would appreciate your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to send me an email. Hi Lance — I actually do have an eBook in the works, so stay tuned for that! I just wanted to say that this post is awesome, well written and lots of useful Nutrisystem info. Looking forward to my first shipment.
Hi Corburt — Thanks for the kind words, and best of luck with your first month — hope it goes well! I just wanted to offer you a huge thumbs up for the great information you have right here on this post. I will be returning to your site for more soon! This blog looks exactly like my old one! Great choice of colors! Really inspired by your story — thanks for sharing!
I am planning to start Nutrisystem after the New Year. Hi Erin — Thanks so much for the positive feedback. The first time I ever used Nutrisytem, which was many years ago at this point, I think I was one it for 4 months.
I had a lot more weight to lose then; now when I sign up, I usually use it for a month, maybe two at the most. To lock in the auto delivery deal, you have to commit to two months, so if you hit your weight loss goals after month 1, I recommend switching your order to just the Turbo Shakes — that will ensure you lock in the most savings, and also helps to keep you on track once you start transitioning off the program. As I have said before, you have to be committed to the program to get results, but as long as you follow their plan you will lose weight!
Anyways, best of luck and please let us know how it goes: Thanks for sharing your story. Drinking over ounces and eating tons of leafy greens.
I did NS about 4 years ago lost almost This past July was told my chloerstral and blood pressure was too high for 28 year old. So black Friday I ordered when prices decreased. I will keep you posted on next weeks weigh in! Ok, here's my input: I have tried every diet out there-seriously. Nutrisystem was horrible for me. I didn't like the food I rememeber one soup smelled exactly like dog food. I stuck to it for 2 weeks tho and didn't lose anything.
I knew that I could not rely on pre-packaged foods and the only way I would be happy and get my healthy foods in would be WW. It has the highest success rate for people losing and keeping it off, plus it's one that doctors will always recommend. I started in January and down 35lbs already. I can eat and drink what I want-which is the reality of life anyway, not eating pre-packaged foods! My opinion is if you try WW and it does nothing for you, then you din't follow the program exactly how you are supposed to.
Lastly, to lose healthy you should lose no more than 2 lbs a week. Slow but steady winds the race! You can lose fast other ways but it WILL come back. I have lost 7 lbs so far. I did a typo in my previous message of I am happy with this program. I like the idea of no measuring food out. I know exactly what to eat to get my calories in. I really think this program teaches you portion control so when you do go back to eating the regular foods you know how much you should eat.
I have been eating very healthy I also feel very good. I have tried WW before and it didn't work for me. Not to say other people wouldn't have success For me though I think this is the way to go right now. I am doing it for 3 months and then going on maintenenance. Actually NS has lots of recipes and stuff for when you do maintenance to keep you within the calorie limits also.
So far this is the only thing I have tried where I actually am losing every week and at a healthy loss of about 2 lbs a week! Good luck to you! Last edited by lam; at Iam, I'm not surprised that you're happy with NutriSystem. What's not to be happy about? It's something new and exciting and you're losing weight!
It's probably like a vacation too, from having to fix a meal from scratch. Here comes the big however. The truly important thing is the long term result. I remember when Oprah Winfrey was on NutriSystem. It was played up as the greatest thing going. After being on it for a long time, she came out on stage one day looking really great thin waistline etc. But what does she look like today? I no longer watch TV but from magazine pictures she appears to be quite large again.
In my opinion, it falls under the heading of "fad diet" and fad diets don't work in the long run. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't enjoy it for the time being.
Just be cautious in what you expect for the long run. Your post caught my eye. I have been on Nutrisystem for almost three weeks and have lost a little over 5 pounds. I am only planning on being on the plan for 28 days with a goal of losing a total of 10 pounds.
It has taught me to look at portion sizes in a whole new light. I have become a fan of sugerfree gelatin and drink mixes. The big thing for me is the mixing of protein, fruit and vegetables in a certain order. I also plan to use prepackaged foods available in the supermarket to replace the Nutrisystem entrees later. I hope I can mention this on this board because something else has become a huge help in logging my weight daily.
Actually I continued with that trend all the way through to the end when I reached my goal. I could lose more weight now if I chose to by following the same plan. Nutrisystem really does make it easy for you. They have it all planned out and show you how to be successful when trying to lose weight. Nutrisystem suggests you work out each day for 30 minutes. I have followed those guidelines. I do a DVD each morning before work.
The DVD is anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I like to vary my workout so that I do not get bored doing the same things over and over. I have some stress in my life and exercise is my stress relief.
I lost over pounds — Nutrisystem Results. I lost over pounds using Nutrisystem and surprisingly I do not have a lot of hanging extra skin. My Nutrisystem before and after photo proves that. I attribute that success to my exercise. I know that the exercise has given me the shape that I have now and the muscles that keep me energetic and healthy. I have read a number of Nutrisystem reviews where people say that Nutrisystem is hard.
Honestly it was never hard for me to stick to the Nutrisystem plan. I believe that it was easy for me because of the results that I was seeing. You are able to customize the plan to your personal likings and tastes.
I am pleased with the amount of flexibility that Nutrisytem provides. I like to eat a variety of foods and with Nutrisystem I am able to do that and still lose the weight. I am an all or nothing person so I was all in with this program and it provided me with the results that kept me motivated to stick with it until I reached my goal and even beyond into maintenance.
From Size 24 to Size 4 — Is Nutrisystem worth the money? I started out wearing a size 24 and now I have shorts as small as a 4. Nutrisystem is worth it. Each week when I stepped on that scale and noted another loss in weight I felt proud. Having success is very motivational. I did hit some bumps in the road. Sometimes life throws us curve balls. So no matter what happened in my life or at work, I just kept on keeping on.
I like the structure that Nutrisystem provides. I like eating on schedule. I like knowing what I am going to eat and when I am going to eat it. Nutrisystem is perfect for me. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first.
I thought it sounded too good to be true. Nutrisystem commercials seem like the program would be very simple and easy to follow. I never understood how someone with so much weight to lose like I had could eat the same things as someone with just a few pounds to lose. It seemed to me that we would need different programs but with Nutrisystem we can both use the same program and still be successful.
Cutting back on eating out and choosing Nutrisystem instead saved me money. As other Nutrisystem reviews attest, you have to follow the plan. You have to exercise. You have to drink your water. You have to avoid alcohol.
You have to eat your fruits and veggies. You have to put in the work and you will see the Nutrisystem results. Calories in versus calories burned. I like the whole idea of Nutrisystem because with the plan you are still eating regular foods.
You are given the tools you need to succeed and transition back into eating regular foods again once you have reached your goal. The first few months I had to log what I ate each day.
I also logged the amount of exercise that I did. Now I am able to do the logging in my head. I eat more now than I did when I was actively trying to lose weight but I still monitor my weight and if I see it going up I just go back to doing what I did to lose the weight and keep it down where it needs to be. Weight is going to be a lifelong battle for me. I am always going to have to exercise and watch what I eat but now I know how to do it. I know that if I do find myself gaining weight I can lose it again.
I am going to be very attentive to my body and keep watching myself to try and never be overweight again. I fluctuate between and pounds lost now. I went from weighing in at pounds to weighing somewhere around I have been as low as but it seems to stay right around I have been maintaining for nearly a year.
It took me right at a year to reach my goal. I lost pounds a week each week the whole time I was following the plan. I am still amazed at how far I have come. When I fold my clothes I have a hard time believing how small my clothes are now.
I wear a Medium size shirt and in pants. I have some small dresses and shorts. I can wear clothes for nearly any store. I used to be limited in where I could shop, but not anymore. While I was losing weight my sister also joined Nutrisystem. She lost over 70 pounds and really enjoyed the program as well.
She lost her weight a lot quicker than I did. She was inspired to join because she saw me losing weight.
